Afterschool programs are an integral partner to keep kids active and healthy during the out-of-school-time hours and a vital piece of the solution to tackle the obesity epidemic.

Afterschool programs hold infinite potential to provide the additional supports necessary to ensure that students are equipped with the literacy skills they need in school, in careers and in life. Hear from three afterschool programs that are providing integral literacy supports to their students by building on their students’ school-day lessons and finding engaging, fun and innovative activities to inspire their students and place them on the road to become lifelong learners.

Communications experts will walk through strategies and tools to leverage your state's data from the Afterschool Alliance's new Kids on the Move report to garner positive coverage and awareness of afterschool programs' role in supporting health and wellness.

The Afterschool Alliance and Mozilla have partnered up this year to bring you the Lights On Afterschool Webmaker Challenge, a simple, fun activity to help afterschool programs develop students’ webmaking and digital literacy skills. For the Challenge, students will design their own digital poster showcasing their favorite afterschool programs on Mozilla’s Webmaker platform.

We'll show you how to use our event planning tools to help you stay on track with your planning, attract VIPs and work with the media to get your message out. 

Learn about some of the key challenges and opportunities facing afterschool and summer learning programs during this election season, and discover how you can advocate for afterschool in your community and raise awareness of these critical programs among elected officials and candidates. The speakers will cite examples of successful advocacy efforts, including hosting site visits.

This webinar will introduce interested science centers and museums to the Lights on Afterschool initiative. Speakers will discuss grant expectations, provide event examples, and answer audience questions.

In this webinar, Afterschool Alliance and the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA) are collaborating again in order to provide information on funding sources for housing authority/afterschool partnerships.
