This webinar will introduce interested science centers and museums to the Lights on Afterschool initiative. Speakers will discuss grant expectations, provide event examples, and answer audience questions.

In this webinar, Afterschool Alliance and the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA) are collaborating again in order to provide information on funding sources for housing authority/afterschool partnerships. 

What are the key issues affecting girls today in the U.S.? What approaches can afterschool programs employ to best support the success of boys, specifically boys and young men of color? We'll begin to address these questions in a the first webinar of an ongoing series focused on gender-specific programming in afterschool. 

This webinar will discuss how summer learning programs can increase participation in the Summer Food Service Program.  Kate Sims, a child nutrition policy analyst from FRAC, will discuss the findings from their latest report on participation in the Summer Food Service Program. Susan Gamble, director of the West Virginia Statewide Afterschool Network, will discuss how a nationally recognized summer learning program in her state has increased participation in the Summer Food Service Program by working with local partners.

To help you understand the issues related to afterschool—and some of the policy challenges that could affect your program during the next year—this webinar will introduce you to the basics of afterschool policy.
