Afterschool Webinar:

Creating and Sustaining a Caring Culture in Afterschool and Summer Programs

Wednesday, Mar 15, 2023 01:00 PM ET

Research on successful out-of-school time programs shows that positive impacts for youth and families are often directly related to a strong and supportive program and organizational culture. Programs and organizations that have strong cultures and identities based on social and emotional learning (SEL), mutual respect, and prioritizing the needs of the youth and families that they serve are ideally situated to help young people and program staff build the skills, behaviors, and beliefs that are necessary to thrive. Culture comes from the creation of safe and supportive space and relationships with staff, flexible and respectful relationships between colleagues.

We invite you to join us for presentations and a panel discussion with experts from Harmony SEL at National University, WINGS for Kids, and LA’s BEST sharing out insights on how to infuse social and emotional development in every aspect of organizational culture. The benefits from prioritizing organizational culture include having greater positive impacts not just on the young people that programs serve, but also on the social and emotional development of staff and improved staff engagement and retention.
