About this webinar:

Today, more than 10.2 million children participate in an out-of-school time (OST) program, which provide an array of enriching learning opportunities, from building Rube Goldberg machines to student-led service learning projects. The OST field has come a long way over the past two decades, and the newly released book, The Growing Out-of-School-Time Field: Past, Present, and Future, delves into the ways in which the OST field has grown and matured as a partner in helping children and youth reach their full potential. In part one of two in this webinar series, hear from leading researchers in the OST field who wrote chapters in the book focused on the critical role the OST field has played to promote positive youth development over the years, addressing the needs of children and youth participating in programs, particularly those who are from underserved communities. This webinar will also discuss the part that research has played in the OST field’s responsiveness to the needs of students and importance of supporting continuous improvement within the field.

Tune into this webinar that will both reflect back on the progress made in the OST field and look at what is ahead for this growing field’s future.
