Join Young Rembrandts for a fun art activity for students and families

Young Rembrandts is honored to be a national partner for the 21st annual Lights On Afterschool celebration! This nationwide event, organized by the Afterschool Alliance, calls attention to the importance of afterschool programs and the resources required to keep the lights on and the doors open. According to Afterschool Alliance, 3 in 4 afterschool programs are at risk of for laying off staff or closing as a result of the pandemic. Now, more than ever it’s important to support afterschool programs and feed your child’s hunger for things they love.

On Wednesday October 21, 2020, Young Rembrandts Founder, Bette Fetter, will be hosting a free, LIVE online drawing class to celebrate the event. Gather your family, break out the art supplies and let's de-stress! No experience necessary, PLUS every registered attendee will receive a free coloring page to complete after class. “Afterschool programs are essential to the growth and development of young learners,” says Fetter, founder of Young Rembrandts. “The stress of 2020 makes the Lights On initiative and programs like these, even more important. Keep your children involved in things they love – keep them creating and keep them learning!” Research shows that afterschool programs produce gains in academic achievement, safety and school attendance.

Young Rembrandts is a drawing program that has seen the powerful impact afterschool programs have on children’s emotional and social health. COVID has drastically affected the accessibility of in-person afterschool classes – but that doesn’t stop creativity!
