Just in time for fall and Lights On Afterschool, Mizzen Education and Learn Fresh have teamed up to bring you exhilarating, free content specially designed for afterschool programs to help build math skills.

The fun begins with NBA Math Hoops! Invented by a math instructor, NBA Math Hoops is a signature Learn Fresh program that leverages students’ passion for the game of basketball to build fundamental math and social-emotional skills. This 10-part experience (for grades 3-8) boosts algebra readiness while fostering SEL as students team up, collaborate, and compete to win, all while practicing the art of fair play. Now, NBA Math Hoops is available to you on MIzzen Education’s free learning platform for the out-of-school time community.

  • Access NBA Math Hoops on Mizzen Education. Create your free account and explore the full module, from the preseason to playoff championships.

  • Get in the game! Start with preseason (Activities 1 - 3), where students get "game-ready" by signing a Sportsmanship Contract; springing into the world of basketball stats (and fundamental math); and putting their math skills into practice as they draft an all-star roster. [Pro move: In Activity 1, you’ll find an order form to get your own copy of the NBA Math Hoops physical board game!]
