Year Published: 2025

Technovation Girls is a global program that empowers girls from underserved communities to become entrepreneurs and leaders. The program’s 2024 Annual Impact report found positive outcomes related to participants’ self-efficacy and confidence in pursuing STEM fields, as well as long-term impacts on program alumnae, who report increased technical skills, such as programming, and soft skills, like leadership and teamwork. Program volunteers also recognize the positive professional and personal impact the experience has on their lives.

Program Name: Technovation Girls

Program Description:

Technovation empowers girls (ages 8-18) around the world to become technology entrepreneurs and leaders. Through its core program, Technovation Girls, students work in teams to identify a community problem and create a mobile application or AI solution to solve it, while developing business and coding skills. Girls and mentors can connect with Technovation Girls locally through Chapters and Clubs, which provide a way for students to meet and work together as they complete the program. These chapters include schools, nonprofits, and other program partners who support 15+ students on teams and recruit volunteer mentors to support them.

Scope of the Evaluation: National

Program Type: Summer, Afterschool

Grade level: Elementary School, Middle School, High School

Program Demographics:

Technovation reaches girls ages 8-18, particularly those from underserved communities and girls of color, across the U.S. and globally.
