Apply to be featured in the STEMWorks Database!by Anita KrishnamurthiChange the Equation (CTEq), a non-partisan, non-profit, CEO-led initiative is inviting programs to apply to be included in their STEMWorks database. Any STEM-learning program that serves pre-K through 12 students and educators, both in- and out-of-school are eligible to apply.
The goal is to identify and highlight exemplary programs as CTEq continues its effort to help business leaders and other funders identify and support high-quality STEM education programs. While the bar is high - WestEd will review the applicants against CTEq's Design Principles for Effective Philanthropy - it is a great opportunity to highlight high-quality afterschool programs and further demonstrate that we are an integral part of the solution to the STEM education crisis in the nation.
Applicants will receive detailed feedback on their application's strengths and weaknesses. Those who are selected can promote their inclusion as a sign of quality. The names of programs that are not selected will not be released and will remain strictly confidential.
I encourage afterschool and summer programs to apply if you believe you have a strong STEM education program with demonstrable impact on youth. To apply, please visit the STEMworks database submission site. There are two remaining dates for the open solicitation. Programs that apply early will have more opportunity to respond to feedback and reapply, if necessary. Apply by October 15 for inclusion by December 1, 2012 and by November 15 for inclusion by Jan. 15, 2013. For comments and questions, please contact cteq.info@wested.org.
