America After 3PM — 2009

AA3PMIn 2009, the Afterschool Alliance released the second round of America After 3PM, which found that 8.4 million children were participating in an afterschool program, 15.1 million children were alone and unsupervised after school and the parents of 18.5 million children said they would enroll their child in an afterschool program if one were available. Sponsored by the JCPenney Afterschool Fund, the Afterschool Alliance worked with RTi to survey nearly 30,000 households and determine how the time spent between 3 to 6 p.m. had changed for children from 2004. Below are the materials related to the 2009 release of America After 3PM, including the 2010 special report on participation in summer learning programs.
